The word Tajweed is derived from the root jeem wao and daal i.e jawwada youjawwidu Tajweed like the word Hassana from the root Ha Seen and Noun i.e Hassana Youhassinu Tehseen – adornment, beautification.
Technically it is to read each and every letter beautifully i.e by giving its due rights. Rights of the letters includes:
- origin point of the letter i.e Makhraj
- qualities of the letter i.e Sifaat
Origin point always remains the same for a letter while certain qualities may vary with the changing situation of a letter.
Taking care of the letter’s right in all situations is an actual Tajweed Recital.
